Story overview

Marcus rushes home from an urgent military assignment to attend the wedding of his younger brother Reed. Because he rushes straight from his mission without changing, he arrives at the upscale venue clad in an ordinary courier uniform. Snobbish guests and Bella Howard's wealthy relatives immediately assume he is an impoverished intruder and treat him with open derision.

Reed repeatedly defies his bride and her relatives to shield his older sibling, reiterating that he owes his entire life and success to Marcus's childhood sacrifices.
