Story overview

Maria Harrison had spent six years in California sacrificing her aspirations as a top beauty student to provide for her boyfriend, Tristan Wilson, and his family. While Maria worked relentless shifts at the local factory and handled domestic chores, the Wilsons treated her like an unpaid servant. They even refused to publicly acknowledge her or treat her young daughter, Judy, with basic decency.

The breaking point arrives when Maria returns from work to discover Judy forced to kneel outside in a severe rainstorm with a burning fever, falsely accused of theft. When Tristan and his mother refuse to fund medical care and assault them instead, Maria refuses to endure further degradation.
