How to Dump a Hockey Star Ending Explained: Full Plot Summary & Episode Spoilers

Levi Carlson celebrates receiving the NHA MVP trophy, publicly praising his wife Renee while also thanking team physician Madeline Meyer. Renee, who hid her background as heiress to the Boston Falcons hockey team, hopes to surprise Levi with the news of her pregnancy and her family's newfound support.

Madeline spots Renee having a private conversation with her brother Clark, takes a photo, and tells Levi that his wife is cheating. During a subsequent car accident, Levi rushes to help Madeline first instead of Renee. Later at the hospital, Levi accuses Renee of infidelity and causes her to fall, resulting in a tragic miscarriage.

Following the breakdown of her marriage, Renee cuts ties with Levi and his family. Her brother Clark Molson arrives in grand fashion to fetch his sister, rolling up with a lineup of expensive black cars and saluting bodyguards who handle Renee's luggage.

Clark thoroughly enjoys the stunned, dumbfounded reactions of the Carlson household, delivering a parting gesture of contempt to Levi's family as Renee leaves her past life behind.

Madeline orchestrates another dangerous plot targeting Renee on the streets. A vehicle speeds toward Renee, threatening her life.

Levi rushes in and pushes Renee out of harm's way. The oncoming car crashes directly into Levi instead, marking the second time he risks himself to protect her from Madeline's schemes.

Levi makes a deal with Renee's brother Clark, agreeing that he must win the championship without the Falcon team before he can pursue Renee again. Right as they conclude their pact, a commotion erupts outside where Madeline has seized Renee at gunpoint.

Madeline demands Levi marry her or she will murder Renee. Levi tries to de-escalate the danger by offering the ring intended for Renee, but Madeline points her firearm and shoots at Renee anyway. Levi lunges to shield her, absorbing the bullet, and is rushed away unconscious in critical condition.
