My Trash Pup Is Fenrir Recap & Spoilers: What Happens Next

Fourteen years in the past, a youth named Cub rescues young Elena from a beast attack. Before barbarian raiders force them apart, Elena gives him a keepsake pendant and makes him swear to seek her hand in marriage once she turns twenty. Soon afterward, a powerful master detects the boy's staggering spiritual energy and brings him to a mountain sanctuary for intensive training.

Over the course of a decade, Rayne defeats ninety-nine perilous trials, eradicating every titan-tier creature in the surrounding wilderness, including a vicious Hellhound that had previously routed elite warriors. Realizing the young man has surpassed his own limits and possesses power only apocalypse-level entities can endure, the mentor hands him a crest containing the truth of his identity and sends him into the world to seek Elena.

Descending toward civilization, Rayne intervenes to rescue Elena from barbarian killers, though she suppresses her identity so he does not become entangled in political conflicts. Rayne brings the commemorative pendant to the lord's manor in search of his promised bride, only to face immediate contempt from the local ruler and Elena's wealthy fiancé, Victor.

The nobles mock Rayne as a destitute vagrant because he did not form a beast bond until turning eighteen, laughing at his unimpressive canine partner. Victor shows off by having his flame lion ignite several tiers on a testing pillar, but when Rayne and Max approach the same stone, it violently shatters from the immeasurable energy concealed within them.

The domestic dispute is cut short when barbarian forces under the command of Bollock assault Ashen City. Victor boasts of his combat prowess and claims he will protect the people, yet his celebrated flame lion is dismantled in a single blow, prompting the cowardly nobleman to abandon his allies and retreat.

With her father injured and the outer barricades breached, Elena steps forward to lay down her life for her people, directly admitting to Rayne that she is indeed his long-lost betrothed. Refusing to allow her to perish, Rayne steps between Elena and the barbarian leader to confront the invaders.
